Calendula Kids Corner
at the Northwest Herbal Fair

Yara Maël

Welcome to Calendula Kids Corner at the Northwest Herbal Fair — a place for little ones and their grown-ups to explore, create, play, and connect with the living herbal world together.

Throughout the day, we’ll offer four children’s programs — two in the morning and two in the afternoon — with activities such as an herbal tea-making workshop, plant walks, nature crafts, and other playful ways of connecting with the plants around us.

Our intention is for Calendula Kids Corner to be more than a place where children are simply dropped off while their parents explore the fair. We are creating a village together.

We invite parents and caregivers of children under seven to remain present and participate alongside their children during the kids’ workshops. Older children are welcome to join independently if they feel comfortable doing so, though parents are always welcome to participate with them as well.

We believe there is something powerful that happens when families gather around the plants — when children see their grown-ups learning, making, playing, and tending alongside them. Just as the herbal kingdom thrives through interconnected roots, our families become stronger when we grow in relationship with one another.

Calendula Kids Corner is an invitation to slow down, get curious, get your hands in the dirt, make something beautiful, and let our children experience what it feels like to be held by a community.

Come play with us. Come make tea. Come meet the plants. Come build the village.

We can't wait to welcome you into the Calendula Kids Corner!

PS. The children's Zone will not be staffed the entire Gathering, it will only have adults there during the workshop periods, which is 4 hours out of the whole day. There will be crafts and drawing supplies for children / parents who want to come and be in the children's Zone when there is not a designated staff.
