Workshop
-
In traditional systems of healing, the use of qualities and energetics was used to determine whether a substance would have a warming, cooling, drying, or moistening effect upon an individual. This technique was also used to determine the state of an individual's constitution or the quality of a specific organ, tissue, or illness. Each quality was associated with the elements of earth, water, fire, and air. Not only is this an excellent technique that gives herbalists a holistic view of health, but it also weaves in the mythic elements of traditional healing through the elements.

If we are unable to situate ourselves within ecologically reciprocal relations as we practice wildcrafting, we run the risk of perpetuating extractive ways of being that diminish the vitality of Earth's bio-systems. If, however, we align ourselves within already present regenerative cycles, we relieve notions that we as humans are somehow separate from these life system processes. Join in as we ask ourselves: How can we reclaim our capacity for intimate connection with the land and how can we cultivate conditions for the greater thriving of all life on this planet?
